Bologna –
Alessandro Pajola took home the award for Best Defensive Player Of The Year – Pall-Ex of the 2024/25 Unipol A Series, surpassing in preferences opponents John Petrucelli (Trapani Shark) and Mouhamed Faye (UNAHOTELS Reggio Emilia).
This recognition for the outfielder of the Bologna lineup further consecrates him in the elite of our league, as it is the second best defender award of the regular season after the one achieved in 2022. Pajola has made tenacity his trademark, but this season he has made a further qualitative leap, becoming not only the defensive hound of Virtus Segafredo Bologna, but also further rising as one of the locker room’s silent leaders. In a year full of expectations and pressure, coach Dusko Ivanovic found in him an indispensable reference point, entrusting him with the tasks of director and defensive bulwark, roles that Pajola has been able to combine with extraordinary maturity.
