Virtus Segafredo Bologna announces that it has reached an agreement with Kitija Laksa until 2024.
Laksa was born in Riga on May 21, 1996.
A 182cm guard, Laksa remained until the 2020/2021 season in his hometown of Riga, where he played not only in the national league but also in the Euroleague: in his last season in Latvia he finished with an average of almost 13 points and 40% from three-point range. In the end of the season the move to Turkey, to Kayseri, in the EuroCup. Last season her landing in Italy, at Famila Schio, with which she won a Scudetto and an Italian Cup, in addition to playing the Euroleague, closed with an average of 14 points and 44% from three-point range. In addition to the victories with Schio, she was also the first player to win the title of MVP of the three competitions up for grabs in Italy (Championship, Italian Cup and Supercup). On a permanent basis with the Latvian national team jersey, Laksa played in the 2018 World Championships and three editions of the European Championships.
