Tortona, September 21 –
After the friendly match against Tortona, which closed Virtus’ pre-season, Karim Jallow said: “It was a demanding pre-season, with lots of long training sessions to bring together many new players. But the coaching staff did a good job, and so did we. We learned week after week, day after day. We had ups and downs, some good games, others less so. Today, in the last game, we showed good character, the team was aggressive, especially in defence and running. Today was a good test to show what kind of team we want to be.”
Momo Diouf also commented on the first few days of training after the European Championships: ‘Some of us, like me, have only just returned, but already in these first few days we are integrating well into the group that has been working for a few weeks now. In these two games, we played as a team, and that’s the most important thing. We still need to build confidence between us, but considering that we played two games so close together, it was a good match.’
