Virtus Segafredo Bologna announces to have reached an agreement until June 30, 2024 with Daniel Lorenzo Hackett.

This latest arrival, after a complex and difficult negotiation conducted once again with great patience and skill by our General Manager Paolo Ronci, enriches the extensive list of players that represent the best expression of Italian basketball both nationally and internationally. I’m sure Daniel can add that extra touch of character, necessary for a team that has been built to reach important sporting goals.”
A 196cm play-guard, Hackett was born in Forlimpopoli on December 19, 1987.
He grew up in the youth of Pesaro, a city where he lived for a long time before flying across the ocean to St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower. Then the University of Southern California where he plays with the Trojans’ jersey.
In 2009 his first season as a professional, after returning to Italy, with the Benetton Treviso jersey. The following season, he moves to Pesaro, where he stays for two consecutive championships. In July 2012 he signs with Siena, where he wins the scudetto and receives the MVP award in the finals; in the same year, he’s also MVP of the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana won by the Tuscan team. In the 2013/2014 season, after the first months in Siena, the move to Olimpia Milano where he wins one more championship. In the summer of 2015 he leaves Italy to join Olympiacos where he wins a championship with the red and white team of Piraeus. After two seasons in the Greek team he moves to Bamberg, before moving to CSKA Moscow: with the Russian team he reaches twice the championship victory, with the MVP award in the 2020-2021 season, once the Russian Supercup and a Euroleague in the final with Efes in the 2018-2019 season.
Daniel Hackett also counts 114 appearances with the Italian national team.
