Virtus Segafredo Bologna’s season ticket campaign for the 22/23 season was presented this morning at the Savoia Hotel Regecy in Bologna.
Virtus Segafredo CEO Luca Baraldi during presentation: “I bring greetings from Dr. Zanetti, who again this summer has shown his willingness to live up to his commitments to strengthen the company. We haven’t spoken for a long time, we preferred a summer of facts, to be judged by the results on the field and the attitudes of the team. It was difficult to prepare this season ticket campaign. We wanted to make a convenient proposal to our fans, given the context. We are heading into a difficult season for everyone. Sport is a social good, and it has not been adequately assisted by recent governments. Those who are not soccer are not fed by TV rights, and we have operating costs equal to those of soccer. We lost about 12 million in revenue, without a shareholder like Dr. Zanetti we would not be here talking about Euroleague. It was the generosity of one man and all the fans that allowed us to set an all-time record for receipts. We grossed more for the Eurocup final than we did for Sassuolo-Juventus. We have not only the first team, we have the youth sector and the women’s, unique in Europe with Fenerbahce and Valencia. We picked up a team in A2 that nobody wanted to manage and these are the results.
We want to respect the fans with an affordable proposal, and then we ask for help from the fans and businesses in the city. We take the name of the city to Europe, we are an important piece of Basket City. Endless love in this sense. The company is announcing today – for transparency – the prices of all Euroleague and Championship games. Euroleague games are all first tier, in the league only Milan and Venice, then second and third tier, giving an assessment not of technical but of historical attendance in the Arena. Today there is no talk of parterre season tickets will be given with separate communication, those who do will have inside all games, even the league playoffs and eventual Euroleague”.
