Bologna, February 27 –
Let’s take a closer look at how the Adidas NextGen EuroLeague works, the continent’s top under-18 competition, now in its 24th edition. The event is divided into four qualifying tournaments. The winner of each event earns a place in the 2026 Adidas NextGen EuroLeague finals, which will once again take place during the EuroLeague Final Four in Athens. The qualifier already held was in Ulm (Germany, February 6-8), won by Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana, while the one in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates, February 27-March 1) is currently taking place. Along with the one in Bologna, it will be followed by Belgrade (Serbia, March 20-22).
The group stage, which will be hosted at the PalaDozza in Bologna from March 13 to 15 (tickets here), will feature:
GROUP A:
- Dolomiti Energia Trento
- FC Barcelona
- FC Bayern Munich
- Paris Basketball
GROUP B:
• Fundacion Baskonia-Alaves
• Virtus Bologna
• Panathinaikos Athens
• Next Generation Team (composed of prominent players from clubs not represented in the qualifiers, will continue to participate in all stages of the calendar, without the right to qualify for the final phase).
The matches will consist of six games in the first two days and the final four games (8th-7th, 6th-5th, 4th-3rd, 2nd-1st) on the final day, Sunday 15. The final will be played at 4 p.m., so that fans can then watch the big league match between Virtus Olidata Bologna and EA7 Emporio Armani Milano (tickets available here).
