\nPersonally, I had two stoppages but they gave me that run-up that allowed me to get better here. After the second injury I had the knowledge that I had to work four times as hard and things went well, gaining the trust of my teammates and the coach by making myself ready.<\/em>
\nIn a season it is normal to have up and down, like the many injuries, but since the Euroleague ended we have locked ourselves in the gym working hard and staying together, recovering the injured and compacting. The last month we always trained in 15, so that never happened, and that allowed us to come to the playoffs prepared. This stage of the season pushes players to give more of what they have.<\/em>
\nI live the game as a “former” up to a certain point because for me it was a transition, I know a lot of people who work there where I have a lot of memories, but you have to look ahead and think about the final.<\/em>
\nThe will to win trumps everything. You have to look ahead because last year was a different season, with different players and different situations, so it’s hard to compare. I haven’t fully experienced the camp also because I don’t like to be on my teammates too much if I’m not playing: after the two injuries, to be back in confidence and form for me is a big victory. I feel very similar in my journey to Jamal Murry who also came back after an injury as heavy as mine.<\/em>
\nI believe that bad moments, help a man grow mentally and physically, because adversity inevitably makes you grow. The scudetto always remains in history so the outcome is very much in the balance: we don’t let what happened before affect us, because now it’s a different situation.<\/em>
\nThe series will definitely be very balanced, although we have always played very well this year, so much so that I wouldn’t know how to give a prediction: we want to get there ready and maybe try to win one to have home advantage. The home factor is in their hands and so almost subconsciously you know you have to win at least one: the home factor matters but up to a point, it matters who plays better.<\/em>
\nNext year? I live in the present, thinking about finishing the best I can, with a season that has given me so much and that I consider positive personally. I think only about my today and not about tomorrow: about the final I’ve been waiting to play for two years on the court.
\nThe difference in the games against Milan, between the league and the Euroleague, I think can be attributed to the motivation and the will to beat a rival, especially in the European arena that gives you an extra boost, to make it clear that we are also of that level without a doubt.
\nThe key to winning? We have to play the way we know how, together, focused on defense, increasing our physicality and following the coach’s game plans. We will do whatever it takes to win.”
