In addition, we were coming from a very demanding trip like the one to Athens: we have to try to manage our energy in the best way. From this point of view the girls were fantastic doing, in my opinion, the best first half of the year, interpreting the game well, then Campobasso opted for some mixed zones that tarnished us. However, the girls had the merit of staying compact and taking advantage of our strengths. The championship break includes so many players in the national team, and we focused on individual work and rest, which is a very important aspect: it is important to manage training well to make the most of the space between back-to-backs, together with the whole staff.
The Euroleague certainly is a new situation for us that we will try to face in the best way: on Wednesday we will go on a court of a team that is doing very well and has experience in this competition so we will have to do our best to churn out a level performance.
The extra foreigner on the roster? It’s a very interesting question because it allows us to raise the level of the league in my opinion: until a few years ago some games were easier than others but with an extra foreigner, every field and every team becomes difficult. This I think can also improve our Italians who maybe find themselves with a few less minutes, but having more competition in front of them, they are forced to give more and this I think can spur them to improve.”

In the press conference Cheyenne Parker, mvp of the match, also spoke to the microphones, judging her own and her teammates’ performance this way: “I think the key to the game was to stay united, compact, with the knowledge that we have all the cards in hand to be able to stay in the lead.
Training sessions? In basketball we train much harder in the pre season and post season, then during the back-to-backs you have a chance to work on what are the aspects related to tactics and individual preparation, precisely because time is short. The work is mainly mental in this case, which is something that is often underestimated.
I think European basketball, and in particular Italian basketball, is very physical and hard: I am really enjoying being here and having this experience. Also, I really like full arenas, today it was nice to have the trumpets and drums and in fact when we play in front of our fans in Bologna I feel an extra energy.”

[309,310,298,268,261,256,248
269,265
post-52604","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-media-gallery-en","category-lbf-gallery-en","category-fiba-euroleague-women-en","category-primo-piano-en","category-womens-basketball-league","category-a-league","category-news","tag-app-en","tag-evidence
["GET
