The official presentation of Virtus Segafredo Bologna women’s team was held this morning at FAAC headquarters. 2400 people, 34 branches in 5 continents, more than 80 official distributors in the world: these are the figures to draw a reality in constant evolution: the FAAC group.
The Bologna-based company, for the third year in a row, will be present on the undershirts of the Virtus Bologna women’s team.
FAAC CEO Andrea Moschetti attended the event: “Three years of partnership passed really quickly, it was always a crescendo. The first European victory has certainly had a great value, also symbolic. The name FAAC was born in Bologna and continues to expand outside the national borders, the European market is important for us and we want to convey our message through the values of sport.
General Manager Paolo Ronci was seated at the table of the realtors: “We combine the passion of the owners with that of big companies and passion always allows us to pursue important results. We always want to be where we compete to win: when you’re there, sooner or later it’s your turn to raise a trophy to the sky. We also wanted a strong Italian identity for the women’s team, confirmed by the recent convocations of Zandalasini and Barberis, and today Cinili will have her first training session with the team. We would also like to take this opportunity to welcome Turner: it’s an honor to be able to count on an athlete who has just played in the WNBA finals, competing with true legends of women’s basketball.”
Finally, Virtus Segafredo Bologna Coach Lino commented on his girls’ positive period: “The last two victories don’t bring us any immediate results but they are important signs: we’re on the right path. The road is still long, we have an important roster and it will take time but the work done since day one is proving to be fundamental. An applause goes to the girls who have been here since mid-August and have allowed us to create a real group with a spirit of sacrifice and a desire to be together. It’s nice to be able to train them.”
