LBF, Round 7 | Coach Vincent and Cecilia Zandalasini’s words after the win against Schio

Schio, December 27 –

At the end of the challenge against Schio, valid for the 7th day of Techfind Serie A1, these were the words of coach Pierre Vincent: “Coming back to Schio for me was exciting, I had already come back to Schio for the opening day but not to play against Schio. Today was different, the applause at the beginning of the game excited me, I had four great years in Schio. Today we struggled on defense, we work hard on that every day. At halftime we managed to fix a few things and we managed not to concede easy baskets towards the end. Ours is a young team that needs to work and get to know each other, in this terrible month that we have experienced from the point of view of injuries we were able to continue to work, be positive and manage the defense today.”

These are instead the words of Cecilia Zandalasini: “Playing in Schio is always difficult, today we managed to start well but we knew that they would get into gear and we were not ready for their reaction. It was a point-to-point game in the last two quarters and I have to say that I am very proud of my teammates, we managed to pull off a great feat. Winning here is almost impossible, I am so happy for my teammates and this gives us confidence. We had a couple of missteps during this round of the season but it gives us confidence to keep working at our best. In the last action I was looking for the ball to take the decision, I know they had a foul to spend so I tried to throw in waiting for the foul, I had no chance to shoot. Francesca was ready and made one of the most important shots of her career and she really deserves it, she is having a great season and training hard for it. Today the teams were not full, we were missing Ivana and Schio was missing the two long ones who are a key point for the team, both gave their best to try to overcome their limitations due to these absences.”
