Venice, March 30 –
At the end of the game against Umana Reyer Venezia, valid for Round 23 of Techfind Serie A1, these were the words of coach Pierre Vincent: “We played a very good game overturning the basket difference. We made very few mistakes, in offense we struggled a bit more but it is also a positive aspect because there is always room to improve and learn to adapt on what the opponents propose. With three days to go Reyer is ahead in this three-way challenge, they are a very good team, however, you never know what will happen from here to the end. As I told the girls, we try to build the process, which is to figure out how to play against them and against Schio, where to improve for the playoffs. Obviously finishing first is also important for EuroLeague Women qualification, however, to win in the end the process matters.”
Captain Cecilia Zandalasini also stopped in the mixed zone: “It was a really tough game, Venice is the top seed in our league and playing here is really difficult. We won the game thanks to defense, because to concede to a talented team like theirs only 51 points was really a great collective effort and I’m very happy for our victory.”
