Second trip to Moncalieri for the Virtus Segafredo Bologna women’s team that, after the opening day, is called to another trip to the Piedmont region, this time to challenge the home team of Akrons Moncalieri. The newly promoted team, after the victory in the first day against Faenza, comes to the challenge after two defeats against Schio and Lucca.
Coach Terzolo’s team scored an average of 55 points in the first three games of the season, with 34% from two, 22% from three and almost 80% from free throws. Second in the league in rebounds, Moncalieri captures an average of 39 per game. Three players in double figures for the team: 12.7 on average for Brazilian Da Paixao, who is also the best in the assists category, with an average of almost 4. Next among the players in double figures in points scored are Miletic and Williams, the latter the team’s best rebounder (7 on average). In addition to the trio of foreign players, Moncalieri has a young and promising roster. Sara Toffolo and Claire Giacomelli have been, in the first three days, the other two components of the Piedmontese roster to bring points to the table. Virtus Segafredo Bologna, for its part, will have to make up for three recent defeats, two in the EuroCup but especially one in the championship against Campobasso.
